In another expression of service in action, the Inner Wheel Club of Garki (District 910) implemented Visit to Kuje Correctional Center, an initiative designed to create meaningful and lasting impact. The project focused on addressing identified community needs through intentional action and direct engagement. Members of the Inner Wheel Club of Garki visited the Kuje Correctional Center with the aim of spreading hope, encouragement, and the message of God’s love and mercy to the inmates. Essential items including rice, garri, toiletries, bathroom slippers, and medications were donated and presented to the correctional officials. During a motivational session, inmates were encouraged to remain hopeful and embrace positive change. In appreciation, the inmates showcased their skills through handmade items and shared inspiring stories of resilience. A particularly remarkable case was that of an inmate who had been on awaiting trial for 16 years and had earned a WAEC certificate, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and was currently pursuing a PhD. The club resolved to support him by assisting in securing legal representation. Total cost of project execution: ₦700,000 Beyond immediate outcomes, the initiative reflects Inner Wheel’s continued commitment to friendship, service and understanding.
