About Inner Wheel

Where Friendship and Service Intersect

Who We Are

Inner Wheel, one of the largest women’s volunteer service organizations, is a network of over 120,000 women leaders, friends, and changemakers worldwide who have united for over 100 years to promote individual acts of service that create lasting change. Inner Wheel has three key objects:

  • To promote true friendship
  • To encourage the ideals of personal service
  • To foster international understanding

A Century of Service

It all started with a simple act of help during wartime in England. Fueled by a need to support their communities, a group of women laid the groundwork for what would become a global sisterhood. Mrs. Margarette Golding, a visionary in her own right, led the charge, giving rise to the first Inner Wheel Club in Manchester in 1924.
