Members of District 912 gathered at Suntan Beach in Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria on September 20th, 2024, for a meaningful environmental intervention. Led by District Chairman Abiola Aberuagba and joined by dedicated Heartbeat of Humanity sisters in service, the team planted 100 coconut seedlings as part of a coastal restoration project aimed at combating erosion along the vulnerable shoreline.
The initiative addresses the critical challenge of coastal erosion threatening communities in the region, with coconut trees serving as natural barriers to protect the coastline from further degradation.
Adding a festive dimension to the day’s activities, the environmental project coincided with DC Aberuagba’s birthday celebration. Members enjoyed sumptuous meals, birthday cake, assorted snacks, and refreshments, while delightful music filled the air, making the occasion both impactful and memorable for all participants.
