District 911, Nigeria, commemorated Inner Wheel Day with a remarkable humanitarian initiative aimed at improving the daily lives of market traders who often endure harsh weather conditions while displaying their goods.
As part of the project, the District distributed over 100 branded parasols (umbrellas) across markets within its jurisdiction. These parasols provided much-needed protection from both the scorching sun and heavy rains, while also serving as a powerful tool for raising awareness of Inner Wheel’s mission throughout Lagos.
The traders warmly welcomed the gesture, expressing their gratitude through dancing and prayers. Members of District 911 personally engaged with the beneficiaries, fostering a spirit of connection and solidarity.
The distribution exercise began on 7th January 2026 and culminated in a vibrant, fun day on 10th January 2026, where members of District 911 celebrated Inner Wheel Day in grand style.
This initiative not only enhanced the working conditions of market women and men but also underscored Inner Wheel’s enduring commitment to service, community upliftment, and visibility across Lagos State.
