District Chairman Princess Adenike Sodipo and her executives joined President IWM Toyin Ottun-Faturoti and members of the Inner Wheel Club of Oregun in a meaningful International Women’s Day celebration through the execution of two carefully planned “Star Projects” that addressed specific community needs.
The first project focused on supporting market women at the Food Stuffs Market in Ile-Epo, Oke-Odo, through the distribution of giant umbrellas. This practical initiative directly addresses the challenges faced by women vendors who work under harsh weather conditions, providing essential protection from both sun and rain. The umbrellas offer immediate relief and improved working conditions for these hardworking women who serve as vital links in the community’s food supply chain.
The second project centred on education support through the distribution of school bags filled with regular school stationeries to students at Jubril Martins Primary School, Agege. This initiative ensures that young learners have the necessary tools for their educational journey, removing barriers that might otherwise hinder their academic progress.
Both projects were strategically executed within the local community where club members reside, reflecting their intimate understanding of the specific needs facing their neighbors. This grassroots approach demonstrates how Inner Wheel clubs can make targeted, meaningful impact by addressing the real challenges experienced by people in their immediate environment.
The dual focus on supporting working women and empowering students through education perfectly captured the spirit of International Women’s Day, showing how practical assistance can create ripple effects that benefit entire families and communities.
