The Inner Wheel Club of Lagos joined international communities in celebrating International Women’s Day through meaningful community action. President IWM Olajumoke Malomo led a distinguished delegation including National Representative IWM Karin Uwaje, PIIWP Oluyemisi Alatise, and other club members to the densely populated Olateju area of Mushin Local Government Area.
The club’s Wall of Kindness Project brought immediate relief to community members through the distribution of essential items including clothing for women and children, along with vital food supplies such as garri, rice, beans, and other edibles. These carefully selected items were shared cheerfully to help alleviate the economic hardships faced by local families.
Beyond material support, the club added significant value through an awareness campaign focused on stress-free living. This educational component addressed the mental and emotional wellbeing of community members, providing practical guidance for managing life’s challenges during difficult economic times.
The comprehensive approach of combining immediate material relief with educational support demonstrated the club’s understanding that true empowerment addresses both physical and psychological needs. Recipients expressed deep happiness and gratitude for Inner Wheel’s timely intervention, acknowledging how the support came at a crucial moment when economic pressures were particularly challenging.
